Where we started
Educated Furniture was born back in 1994 (formerly known as Mike's Woodshop) when we began manufacturing children’s furniture and toys from a skyline garage in Poroti, New Zealand.
After offering our local Whangarei primary schools the opportunity to purchase some painting easels, a local principal asked if we could custom make something similar to his specifications. We took up the challenge and have grown and diversified from a small range of educational furniture to a comprehensive catalogue of literally hundreds of made to measure furniture items such as:

- Storage systems and much more.
Educational furniture range
Our educational furniture is designed and built to stand the test of time and can be customised to cater to all age groups, including early childhood centres, primary and secondary schools and tertiary institutes.
The educational furniture in our range is not limited to the classroom either. We can supply a huge range of library furniture, excellent seating and office solutions for administration and waiting areas, staffroom furniture, custom cabinetry for kitchens and technology blocks and a huge range of storage systems to suit any space.
High quality and good value furniture
Much of the educational furniture we offer is manufactured in our custom built Whangarei based factory, which is fitted out with modern machinery that produces our product to a very high standard.
To complement our own educational furniture range, we source a number of products from New Zealand and international suppliers, such as school chairs, classroom stools and soft furnishings.
Importing furniture components
Over the years we have also developed an importing side to our business, whereby we bring in a range of quality furniture components to help keep our products competitive in the market. All our imported components and furniture have been very carefully selected, ensuring that they are of a higher specification than any locally made product we can source.
