The staffroom at Stanhope Road School was 25 years old and needed a full renovation including a full staffroom furniture fit out. Principal Zane Wilson contacted Educated Furniture Auckland Account Manager Graham Lyons for assistance.
The Planning Process
The room required seating for 30-35 staff and needed to provide a mixture of different use areas. Zane also wanted the room to be cheerful and brightly coloured so significant thought went into the selection of the right furniture fabrics. Fortunately the room had been freshly painted prior to the staffroom furniture being ordered so Graham had a nice blank canvas to work with.
The Staffroom Furniture Solutions
To create the different zones within the staffroom, Educated Furniture provided a mixture of products including:
- Café style seating near the kitchen with Pavo Tables and Sai Chairs
- Relaxed style seating using Apollo Sofas and Mayfair Chairs and
- A higher seating area using Pavo Bar Leaners with Divo Stools.
Delivery and Installation of new Staffroom Furniture
Graham arrived on installation day to help with furniture placement and to confirm the items arrived as ordered. He quickly identified that the flow in the room needed improvement. Fortunately, after shifting a few pieces around the transformation was complete and the staffroom furniture looked fantastic.
After installation, Zane realised he required additional items, specifically another coffee table and a long table for shared morning teas. Graham and the team worked hard to get these items made in colours matching the existing furniture and delivered quickly.
The Final Product
With EF's help the new Stanhope Road School staffroom was transformed into a bright, cheerful space to eat and relax. The school was delighted with its new staffroom furniture and noted how much staff enjoyed being in the refurbished space.
