Having worked with us on a number of educational furniture fit-outs over the past 6 years, Rowandale School Principal Karl Vasau gave us the opportunity to quote on a refit he had planned for the school’s staffroom. The existing tables in the staffroom were not working well for them and the seating was tired and dated, so his plan was to replace everything and give the staffroom a new lease on life.
Planning Process
Territory Account Manager Graham Lyons met with Karl to discuss his vision for the new staffroom and to complete a walk-through of the space. The school wanted to create a range of different zones within the staffroom where staff could relax, catch up, eat and collaborate. Bringing colour into the room was also important as it needed to reflect the school’s brand and philosophy around celebrating diversity. After going through various fabric options it was agreed that the James Dunlop Tapa range would fit their vision perfectly, adding subtle colour and texture to the room through a variety of the upholstered seating options.
Once Graham had a clear understanding of what the school was looking for, he went away to design the spaces and identify the furniture he thought would work best in each zone. A series of CAD drawings were developed so that Karl and Executive Officer Regina Rakich could visualise the new staffroom from a variety of angles and see exactly what had been quoted. To complement the bold fabrics on the soft furnishings, Graham recommended keeping all the tables modern and simple with Affinity Maple tops and solid silver iQuad frames. Karl and Regina were really happy with the new look and feel of the staffroom Graham had quoted and gave him the green light to proceed with the order.

The new Rowandale School staffroom is not only functional and stylish but it also suits the diverse and multi-cultural character of the school. Staff members and the leadership team love the new space and are enjoying having a range of places they both can relax and work.
