The staffroom at Central Normal School had become very dated and was in desperate need of a refresh, not only to better utilise the space but also to provide the school’s hard working team with a more comfortable place to relax and collaborate.
As long-time customers of EF, Principal Regan Orr and Deputy Principal Elly Warnock had confidence in our products and Territory Account Manager Jono Mills, to bring their staffroom upgrade to fruition.
Planning Process
Planning for the new staffroom began in early 2022 with an initial consultation between Jono, Regan and Elly to determine what the school’s vision was for the space. It was clear the old staffroom had not be updated for more many years and was no longer being fully utilised by the school’s team.
Creating a modern, multi-functional and communal space was the school’s main objective with the staffroom furniture upgrade. First and foremost it needed to be a space where staff felt comfortable to eat, relax, catch up and collaborate. Secondly the furniture and layout needed to be versatile enough that it could easily be reconfigured to facilitate team workshops and Board of Trustee meetings.
With the school’s vision and brief in hand, Jono got to work identifying the furniture combinations, colour scheme and layout that he believed would best meet the school’s requirements. This included development of 3D drawings so that Regan and Elly could better visualise the new space and make any necessary changes prior to accepting the final quote.

Ultimately the staffroom furniture fit-out involved the manufacture and supply of the following items:
- Apollo single seater couches in “Centurion Charcoal” fabric
- Custom squabs for an existing built in window seat in “Centurion Charcoal”
- iQuad tables - Snowdrift white tops with black powdercoated frames
- iQuad bar leaners - Orion and Pavo tops in Snowdrift with black powdercoated legs
- iQuad Coffee tables with Snowdrift white tops and black powdercoated frames
- iQuad tall tables with Snowdrift white tops and black powdercoated legs
Delivery and Installation of Staffroom Furniture
Delivery and installation of the school's new staffroom furniture came together in July 2022. The new staffroom is both modern and practical, providing staff with a range of different seating options, while still offering the flexibility to move the single seater couches into a group arrangement for meetings. Regan, Elly and the Central Normal team are delighted with their new staffroom and are enjoying utilising the space to its full potential.
