Facilities at Stanhope Road School got a major upgrade in 2020 with a large scale fit out of educational and office furniture in a range of different spaces, including classrooms, office spaces and modern learning environments. Former Stanhope Road School Principal Zane Wilson contacted Graham Lyons, EF’s Auckland Account Manager to assist with the project.
Planning Process
Due to the scale of the upgrades required and to reduce disruption to school life, the fit out project was broken down into a number of separate smaller projects or zones. Each zone was therefore designed, ordered and fitted out before moving on to the next. A modern and natural theme was identified at the beginning of the process in order to ensure consistency. This helped guide the finishes, fabrics and colour co-ordinations that Graham recommended.
Upon commencement of each new area, Graham met with Zane and the relevant teacher(s)/staff member(s) to discuss their requirements and take a closer look at the space. Then, in consultation with the school, Graham developed a list of furniture items, dimensions and layouts that he considered best met their needs and worked well within the space.
Furniture Supplied
Ultimately the project resulted in EF manufacturing and supplying a wide range of educational and office furniture for the school, including:
- Horseshoe Tables with MLE Stools for a collaborative learning areas
- Tall Tables with Pepper Stools
- Fritters and Kneeler Tables
- A range of mobile shelving units and bookcases
- Teacher’s Stations
- Omega Tables
- Switch Tables
- Round Tables and;
- A range of new workstations and office chairs.
The Final Product
Graham turned up on delivery day to confirm everything had arrived as ordered and to assist with moving and laying out the new furniture in the refurbished spaces. Zane and his team were extremely happy with the smart and functional new furniture they received and the excellent support Graham provided throughout the process.
