Cornerstone Christian School approached Educated Furniture for a quote to assist with fitting out their newly refurbished Intermediate Block with classroom furniture. The aim was to create flexible learning spaces with seating, desks, tables and soft furnishings to create zones.
Planning the Classroom Furniture Fit-outs
Executive Officer (EO) Angela Richards and Head of Department (HoD) Tarryn Rose had already put significant thought into the new spaces prior to their first meeting with Account Manager Jono Mills. This included coming up with a suggested layout plan of what they had in mind. Furthermore, they had also identified images, drawings and cut outs of classroom furniture examples they liked.
The Classroom Furniture Solutions
With his extensive knowledge of EF's products, Jono then worked with Angela and Tarryn to identify the best products and colour pallets for each classroom. Ultimately he came up with the following solution:
- Individual Trap Tables and Titan chairs arranged in a hexagon layout to form collaborative group settings using two different colour tones. This group table arrangement was a new concept the school had not considered and has proven to be very successful with the teachers and students.
- A combination of Tall tables, Delta Tables and Semi Circle Tables with Pepper Stools in a variety of different arrangements thus creating different spaces within the classrooms.
- Addition of Curved Ottomans with backs and Tear Drop Bean Bags for soft furnishings to create a “chill out” zone in each room.
The Final Product
Upon completion of the job the school specifically acknowledged the service that Jono and EF had provided.
They noted Jono’s ideas and product knowledge had helped them hugely in identifying the options that would work best with their vision and the space they had available in each classroom.
Feedback from the School
EF received the following feedback from EO Angela Richards:
“..I understand Tarryn and her team love the environment including the furniture choices. In fact one of the teachers who I spoke to a couple of days ago said “please don’t ever shift me into a different class – I love it where I am” – so that is great news.
Thanks so much in supporting us with the project. You made things really easy and helped us hugely, especially with your ideas and knowledge of what options could work best."
